About Us

Here at Cupcake Cattle our goal is to breed good quality cattle that you can enjoy as much as we do. We have a passion for these animals and we are always looking for new and exciting ways to share that with you!

While Cupcake is fairly new to the miniature cattle business, we have been blessed with great people to learn from and made so many new and wonderful friends through these cows. Farm life, and animal care, on the other hand, are not new things to either of us. We both grew up on farms and share very similar backgrounds and experiences.

Our goals include bringing you great calves and sharing our passion and excitement for raising them but also to be able to bring you innovative farm products and great ways to use them. We've both in involved in education and teaching and we love that aspect of this business.

We are Cupcake Cattle Company!

Dr. SuLynn Mester

Dr. SuLynn Mester has been in nursing since 1987, specializing in critical care, cardiovascular surgical care and trauma care, prior to moving into nurse management and administration. She spent 14 years at a rural Texas hospital as Chief Nursing Officer, and currently works in the Center for Rural Health and Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington. She enjoys teaching in the doctorate program there. She is passionate about rural healthcare advocacy issues and in actively involved in both Austin, Texas and Washington, D.C. to preserve access to quality rural health care. SuLynn grew up on a catfish farm but with many farm animals as well. She'll tell you she can clean a catfish faster than most anyone! She has found her nursing skills quite useful in the miniature cattle world and also enjoys research and teaching people about good cattle health practices. SuLynn is the resident nurse and healthcare manager at Cupcake Cattle! She's got a great way with animals and can make them well and gentle!

Laura Bratton

Laura Bratton grew up on a small cattle ranch in the Texas panhandle. She left the ranch for Texas Tech University and graduated with a B.A. in Advertising/Marketing as well as a certification in secondary education. She worked in outside sales for years prior to going to work for Progressive Insurance where she's been for the past 23 years. She is a senior marketing manager there and enjoys everything about Progressive. Laura spent 30 plus years in the city before returning to the family ranch to live in 2014. She helps her family run the ranch where they raise Angus beef cattle and she also has a small herd of Texas Longhorns. She's been involved with commercial cattle and show steers for many years and most recently miniature Highland and High Park cattle. Outside of cattle, Laura's interests including spending her time with those she loves, cooking, photography, traveling to new places and fly fishing. Laura also enjoys technology (SuLynn does NOT) and she is in charge of all things technology at Cupcake Cattle!
